So It Goes

5 years ago today a certain man died. So it goes.
He is, or should I say was? or will be?...
-one of my favorite authors.
I believe his imagination was a national treasure.
A fellow Hoosier, of which I take pride, regardless
of the granfalloon nature of my pride.
I wish we could've met in life.
I think we would have been good friends.
I also think we would have had many disagreements, about God and the like
(but this would only serve to make us better friends).
I digress...

Mr. Vonnegut, for your stories,
which often inspire my own, I thank you.
